The Arena, 700 Bourke Street, Docklands; 28th June 2016
We're pleased to announce the next Melbourne event for alumni of international business schools.
The financial services industry is going through unprecedented change, with a key catalyst being digital innovation, impacting the provision and consumption of financial services. Additionally, regulators continue to intervene, particularly in banking where consumers are deemed to be mistreated. Consequently the rise of financial technology start-ups, aka 'fintech', has accelerated immensely in the last 12 to 18 months.
Given the amount happening in this area, the alumni club of London Business School - in association with INSEAD, IMD, Harvard, Columbia, Wharton, Stanford and Kellogg - are putting together a panel discussion on "The key determinants of long-term success for the fintech industry in Australia, and the roles of culture, education, industry and public policy in this success."
The panel will comprise senior experts who are actively participating in fintech and financial services:
- Moderator: Stuart Stoyan (CEO of MoneyPlace, member of the Australian Federal Government's FinTech Advisory Group, and board member of FinTech Australia).
- Charlotte Petris (CEO of Timelio and vice president of FinTech Australia).
- Jonathan Davey (Executive General Manager NAB Labs, National Australia Bank).
- Hon Philip Dalidakis (Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, Victorian Government)
