The Firethorn Foundation is proud to announce that Kaushick Maheshwaran has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Firethorn Foundation ANZ MBA Fellowship. This award supports outstanding students from Australia and New Zealand pursuing their MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The Fellowship provides US$50,000 per year toward tuition for each year of the Wharton MBA program. It is awarded to individuals who exemplify academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact in their communities and industries. The Fellowship reflects the Foundation's mission: to invest in education as a catalyst for opportunity, leadership, and lasting change.
In this year's selection process, the Foundation was once again fortunate to receive applications from an exceptional group of candidates from both Australia and New Zealand, bringing an impressive range of experiences, bold aspirations, and inspiring personal stories. Among the applicants, Kaushick Maheshwaran stood out for his notable achievements, dedication to his field, vision for the future, and strong alignment with the Foundation's values.
Kaushick holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Melbourne and currently works as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Melbourne, where he has built experience across industrial goods, retail, and private equity. Upon being selected, Kaushick said, "I am incredibly grateful to the Firethorn Foundation for this opportunity. The Foundation's investment in developing leaders who make a meaningful impact in their communities and industries is truly inspiring — it is a great honour to be part of that mission and I couldn't be more excited to join the Wharton community."
